“By practicing self-care I see how wrong I was and that the opposite is the case: “You cannot pour from an empty cup…” – Jeanine

We asked our Abhyanga Specialist why Abhyanga therapy is so unique.

HG: What is the uniqueness for you about the Abhyanga therapy?
Abhyanga therapy is unique because is a great way to get a better connection with yourself, become more aware what you need and what your body needs. By practicing it weekly you will be able not only to relax deeply but also get to know better to your body and your emotions.

HG: Where did you get the inspiration from to practice holistic health and most importantly Abhyanga?
I got to know to the ayurvedic lifestyle during my Yoga teacher training in Canada. That was when I quit my job after 11 years working as IT-consultant in Germany. I sold my stuff on eBay and started travelling and opened more and more up for holistic ways of living. I wanted to try out ways to bring myself back in balance.

“Abhyanga and daily routines like Yoga and meditation are now an important part of my life and daily business.”

Since then I started to go deeper into this topic and took different courses around Ayurveda, self-development and self-care. Abhyanga and daily routines like Yoga and meditation are now an important part of my life and daily business.

HG: What was the most overwhelming experience for you practising Abhyanga?
The most overwhelming experience for me was to learn and feel how great it is to give myself a massage and how relaxing it is. In our modern world we hardly touch ourselves. We might touch ourselves when we are washing our face or taking a shower, that’s it. Sometimes we aren’t aware what we need and our body needs. By doing Abyanga you can connect deeply with your body and give yourself a great gift. You learn to appreciate your body and your being.

HG: What makes you want to offer your Abhyanga service online & remotely and what is the biggest advantage of an online consultation for your customers?
In my opinion the biggest advantage is that you can do the course from home or any place you feel comfortable.

HG: What do you find the most challenging in your daily professional life as an Abhyanga practitioner
For me the most challenging part is to stick to the routine when I am travelling and at new places.

HG: What keeps you the most motivated to keep practicing in holistic health?
Since I’m following the ayurvedic path I have a much better connection with myself and my body. I know much better what I need for my body and mind. In my “former life” I was just rushing through it and ignored the signs my body showed me. I was very stressed out and thought that self-care would be selfish and not allowed. That I have to be hard and tough.

By practicing self-care I see how wrong I was and that the opposite is the case: “You cannot pour from an empty cup…”
